Chipotle-Style Pico de Gallo Recipe!

Hey everybody! So today, I thought I'd do something a little differently for the blog. If you are like me and my boyfriend, you are borderline obsessed with the restaurant Chipotle. And if you've been living under a rock and never heard of it, it's the Mexican "Subway" where you walk down a line and pick the ingredients in your meal. And their "mild" salsa (mild.. HA!) is down right legen-waitforit-DARY! (HIMYM anybody?)

I found this recipe on another blog as I attempted to make a home version of a Chipotle bowl. With some tweaking here and there, I think I found the perfect recipe!

The ingredients are:

About half of a red onion, finely chopped.
Half a cup of cilantro, finely chopped.
Whole tomato, finely chopped & seedless.
Half of a jalapeño, finely chopped & seedless. But if you're a daredevil and a spicy food enthusiast, then feel free to keep the seeds.
Half a tablespoon of salt.
Two tablespoons of lime juice (fresh squeezed is best, but ain't nobody got time for that).

Procedure: combine, mix, and you're done, LOL.

Yeah, the most time consuming part of this recipe is all of the chopping into tiny little bits. Especially the jalapeño, and word of advice, don't rub your eye while doing this because your eye may or may not burn off.

Once it's all mixed, this is what it should look like.

It smells phenominal! So fresh, and completely beats out anything you can find in the potato chip aisle. And of course if you're Chipotle obsessed, you can now enjoy this at anytime. The great thing is is that this recipe calls for things you probably already have in your kitchen.

I suggest you buy the "scooping" style tortilla chips for this salsa, because this isn't the type of salsa you delicately dip, you DEVOUR this bad boy.

Enjoy everybody! If you try it, let me know how you like it :) And if you want to see more recipes, let me know!

Cosmetics Company Haul 5.30.14

Hello friends! I hope you're all as excited for the weekend as I am, yay!!! I mean I probably won't do anything exciting, as per usual, HOWEVER I have been sick the past two weeks so time to relax is all I need.

Today I have a little haul from the CCO, Cosmetics Company Outlet. If you've never heard of one of these, it's basically an outlet store for makeup. It's owned by Estée Lauder so it features Estée Lauder, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, and other high end brands for makeup, skin care, and fragrance. The amazing part is that the prices are usually at least 30% off retail and features items that were limited edition, discontinued, and even permanent items. And since I now live about 5 minutes from this little peace of heaven I'm usually there about once a week lol. Here's what I've collected so far:

This is the MAC Studio Fix Powder in the shade C5. In the store it looked like a perfect match however when I look at the actual powder it looks like something that would be a little dark. But again it looks perfect on in person, even my boyfriend noticed the difference! He said it looked very "natural". God bless his soul.

This bad boy is the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ocre and this is a permanent item in their collection. This is basically an eyeshadow base and it's perfect because it's a matte skin tone shade that will completely blank out any discoloration on your eyelids, providing the perfect canvas for eyeshadow.

Are we noticing a pattern here ladies and gentleman? I love MAC lol ESPECIALLY when it's discounted. Anyway, this blush is a lot more orange-y in person and I've been craviiiiing an orange blush that wasn't too orange (if that makes sense) The shade is called Modern Tangerine and it's a satin finish which means it's mostly matte but will give a very subtle sheen.

Has anyone looked at Kylie Jenner's makeup recently? She's been rocking a very neutral matte lip that is to DIE for and I've been looking for something to re-create that look. I picked up these two from brands I've either never heard of or rarely buy from.
The lip liner is a dark mauve from the brand Flirt! I must say I really like how the lip liner feels, not too creamy but not dry enough to where it drags and pulls on your skin.
And the lipstick is from a brand I always hear hype about but never really purchased from, Bobbi Brown. The lipstick is a light mauve, lighter than the lip liner and the shade is Latte. It is MATTE and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a matte lipstick in this shade. So I will pay around with these two and see if I can recreate KJ's amazing lip!

That's all for now guys, thank you so much for taking time out to read my blog and stay tuned for upcoming posts!

B&B Works Candle Haul!

Hey everybody!
Before I get started on my first post, I'd like to say welcome! I hope you enjoy what I have to offer regarding beauty, fashion, and other life topics!

I wanted to start things off with something very time sensitive, since these offers end, uh, tomorrow?!
In celebration of Memorial Day weekend, Bath & Body Works has a great sale going on. And I, being of sound mind and body, just could not pass this up.
Their candles were 2 for $22! With each being about $22.50 a pop, it's practically buy one get one free!

Now for the kicker, you could also combine a 20% off coupon!!! That's about $17.60 for two 3 wick candles. Whaaaaaaatttttttt.....!

So naturally I bought 9 lol...

Now I know this seems excessive but I love me some candles (Can I get an amen?!)
I also had some gift cards that we're burning a whole in my wallet and what better way to use them than with a great deal!

This offer ends tomorrow 5/26/2014 so if you've been wanting some candles I suggest you head on over ASAAAAPPP. Just save the coupon I have pictured above and show it to the cashier and you can get the extra 20% off. You're welcome ;)

Thanks for reading guys!
